Service Offerings (Contact us for rates)

Basic Package – Typically grades 8-11

Goal – Creation of Academic and Extracurricular Profiles, Essay and overall application theme, preliminary college list

  • Access to student’s personal College Portal, in which all of his/her academic and personal information will be safely stored, tasks and deadlines assigned, and all counselor/client communications conducted and saved. 
  • Evaluation of grades, test scores, and extracurricular achievements, providing recommendations to improve cohesiveness, such as internship searches, summer programs, etc. 
  • Creation of a student resume highlighting academic and extracurricular achievements 
  • Exploration of student interests, strengths and goals in an effort to help the student declare a major, minor and/or educational focus 
  • Review of transcript and course selection recommendation for 9th, 10th, and 11th graders; understanding prerequisites, AP and college course opportunities, Capstone and IB 
  • Exploration of standardized assessments (ACT/SAT/SAT II), making recommendations for testing goals and test prep options 
  • Development of a unique college list of 8-12 choices, (Identifying geographic areas of interest, school size, type, etc.) 
  • In conjunction with the college list, general Financial Aid counseling to determine affordability. Scholarship search, discussion of financial capabilities and EFC (Expected Family Contribution). Please note, MCC does not offer in-depth FAFSA advising but can make recommendations.

Comprehensive PackageTypically for rising seniors, includes all tasks from Basic Package, plus:

Goal – to finalize college lists, have all applications completed and ready for Submission

  • Access to student’s personal College Portal, in which all of his/her academic and personal information will be safely stored, tasks and deadlines assigned, and all counselor/client communications conducted and saved. 
  • Development of a deadline calendar for completion of required essays and supplements, testing, submission of Letters of Recommendation, etc. 
  • Development of a cohesive, thematic application step by step guidance, feedback, and suggestions 
  • Essays and supplements – topic brainstorming, guidance, feedback, and editing in stages; Please note, MCC is NOT a service that physically completes or changes applications or writes essays/supplements FOR students. Rather, topics are explored, essays objectively edited, and step-by-step guidance provided throughout the process. 
  • Ongoing communication and goal setting, section by section; to-do lists will be provided to the student and a timetable created. Maintaining communication during the application submission and acceptance process. 
  • Assisting in decision making regarding EA/EE/ED/RA/Rolling/Deferred admissions options 
  • Application related questions or concerns as needed

Hourly services available – Customized 4 hour blocks available

Early Planning for 9th/10th graders
